Question Has anyone experienced this?

My dad's brain stem stroke 5 months ago, caused his swallow to be too weak to eat, however just the last couple of days he said he feels like there's something in his throat and needs to "clear" his throat. Does anyone experienced sensations returning like this? Also, his left arm is starting to move slightly at the shoulder and elbow in the last couple of weeks and now the forearm is itching like crazy. We think these signs are nerves coming back to life. Any opinions? Thanks!

I too experienced a brainstem stroke (two years ago) and experienced similar sensations. The throat muscles are damaged somewhat and will take time in order to return to some sense of normalcy. The tingling sensations are likely to go away as the nerves attempt to develope a new route from another portion of the brain. I still and probably always will suffer from troubled eyesight (kind of double vision) and balance alongside weakness on the right side and lack of feeling on the left. I think every stroke affects everyone differently and from I gather, most doctors can only offer an educated explanation for what happens. Good Luck!! Keep getting well!!
