Post Questions one has following a stroke.

I find this site highly informative, and have had many questions I have answered.
I had an ischemic stroke Feb.2001, due to 100% right carotid occlusion. I also have 60% left carotid occlusion, which is inoperable. I am a type 2 diabetic, and am on warfarin. I was lucky for the physical problems cleared up almost before I left the hospital.
I take walks, and do regular household work, but I find that even limited physical exertion really wears me out. I sleep more in one night now than I did prior to the stroke, and rest frequently, but still no stamina. Is this unusual, does it last long.
I am 43, with a small child, and this really has me puzzled as I had little problem with this before...any comment appreciated.

I had a hemorrhagic stroke nearly 2 years ago. Due to the fact that I'm young, I have no disabilities (in other words, I recovered good). I am slightly overweight and this is why I think I get tired some of the time. I have just learned that I can't do all the things I used to do, before the stroke. I am about to start going back to the gym, though, in order to lose the excess weight and to get healthier.

thanks pooky for the input. I thought for a while I was imagining it, as I have also recovered well, except for this one problem which I didn't understand. At first I thought it was medication, as until May 1 I was on 300mg of phenytoin, which I had adverse reactions to. My neurologist weened me off of itand I haven't taken it for a month. It did not allow restful sleep and I thought that might be it. Thank for letting me know I am not alone with this.
