Unhappy stroke-clot & bleed

I'm fiftyyo. Just had a stroke end of Jan. this year and end of Feb.in same spot(left temple).May not have been a second stroke but the Ct scan still shows bleed and clot.Took two Vioxx for aching neck before an injection of Botox in vocal cord for spasmodic dysphonia. Had two injections of Botox in previous years that improved my speech. Could Vioxx have caused the stroke? Didn't someone in old message board suspect Vioxx? I regained all the memory/writing & responding problems I got after first stroke within days but now continue to have headaches. Is it usual to have Ct scans every month for a clot & bleed that continues? Bleed is only seen as 2cc's around the clot. Does anyone have any ideas? I live in Alaska with no real brain specialists. Thanks!

I am 25, but I had my stroke when I was 22. I had a clot and a bleed. My family says this was very dangerous, because they couldn't give me heparin to thin my blood for the clot, because it would just bleed out (and cause me to die). I don't have any idea about the Vioxx, as I've never taken it.

Yes, I know alot about vioxx. I, too had a Ischemic stroke (bleeding one)after taking vioxx for a period of 12 days. I started taking vioxx on September 13th,2002 after a on the job injury. It was prescribed by a company doctor. On the weekend before this stroke, I had severe leg swelling and didn't think much of it. This side effect wasn't listed on the papers the pharmachist gave me. On September 23rs, I collapsed while at work, someone found me laying on the floor, called EMS and was taken to the hospital, where I stayed for a whole week. I had very low blood pressure, severe dizziness, vertigo (room spin) and now I have a bleeding blood vessel in my brain. I lost my job, can't work and have lost all medical coverage because of losing my job (company insurance). I have work restrictions now, can't lift over 50 lbs, cant drive (had a seizure), no climbing and have lost of balance. Right now, I am in the process of fighting Workers comp. for benefits. My problem is the doctors that treated me in the er room, after doing the Cat scan, MRI, and the dye test, say I have a congential birth defect, an artervenous malformation that CAUSED my bleeding. I have no history of seizures or any past medical problems. My problems started with VIOXX. Please e-mail me anytime, thunder111111@excite.com if you want to talk about this topic.
