Re: Anyone tried these prescription drugs for depression or shyness I take lorazepam 1mg everynight to go to sleep. it helps with the racing thoughts. I take paxil anti depressant/anxiety and lomictal, a mood stabalizer. the lorazepam is a god send. really slows me down. Jul |
Re: Anyone tried these prescription drugs for depression or shyness Xanax works for me |
Re: Anyone tried these prescription drugs for depression or shyness I assume you have tried ssri's first because they are the ones that are specifically recommended as first line treatment - namely, zoloft, paxil, & prozac. Klonopin is a good choice, just wouldn't be on it w/o an antidepressant because it can make depression worse. I was on 2.5mg / day. |
Re: Anyone tried these prescription drugs for depression or shyness I've taken all three Benzodiazepines and have had good results. They have been helpful for anxiety/panic but they have a calming/downing effect so it doesn't seem to me that it would be used for treatment of depression. I only take it for panic. |
Re: Anyone tried these prescription drugs for depression or shyness
Xanax works for me
it controls my extreame low periods. |
Re: Anyone tried these prescription drugs for depression or shyness I take ativan on occasion and I don't think it would do much for depression. It's more of a sedative for when you're feeling anxious I think. In regard to shyness, maybe it would take away anxiety before you go into a social situation but I thin it's unlikely that it would make you feel upbeat since it's a relaxant. I use it to help me go to sleep on occasion. Be careful though because I've heard it can be pretty addictive. Hope that's helpful:) |
Re: Anyone tried these prescription drugs for depression or shyness Tried nadolol, but I have this wicked tremor (is why Im taking it), Im almost starting to wonder if it's Parkinson's... Anyways, only tried it once so far but it worked great for that (just dont try to do cardio after taking it! it's like pulling a cart behind you). Anyone else get wicked tremors, or just me???? |
