My sister (52 yrs) is trying to understand the symptoms of ADD to see if they can explain some of her behavior troubles. She's able to function each day but she's serious about her having ADD and she's trying learn all she can.
She got a load of books that she's reading and thats when she talked to me briefly about it, but hasn't spoken on the subject since. She's not the type to complain about things so I can't press her for news.
I love her a lot and I'm trying to walk that fine line between caring and helping, versus being a nosy sister.
I know that a journey of self examination can be tough and long and I want to help her all I can. I hate to see her suffer or feel bad. I pretty much know nothing about ADD.
Are there any good books for a person who is trying to determine if they have ADD?
What is the difference between ADD and ADHD?
Is there a symptom list?
Is serious shyness a symptom (or manifestation of a symptom)? She is so shy as to get terrified over having to speak in a group, etc.
Are there good doctors who specialize in ADD?
Can you suggest any ways that I can help her?
Peace and health to all,
