Hi Grillo- I just responded to your question you posted of the High Blood Pressure Board, asking if your symptoms could be related to hypertension.
Here's my reply so you don't have to go to the other Board:
Your symptoms are unlikely to be caused by hypertension.Symptoms of high blood pressure are almost non-existent. Although some patients complain of dizziness, headaches or blurred vision, most patients only discover they need hypertension treatment when their blood pressure is taken. Is your BP under control?
When I was in my 30's I experienced a constant rocking, swaying, "sea-leggy" sensation. I never actually lost my balance but always felt like I would. And sometimes, even just sitting still, I felt "off". And if I moved just a *little*, it felt like the earth was moving beneath me and that I had nothing to do with it. Totally un-grounded feeling. Not "connected" to my body or my own movements.
Complete work-ups by ENT docs, internists, neurologists , allergists, turned up nothing. Tomographies of the inner ear...nothing.
CT scan of brain....nothing.
I lived with it (and anti-anxiety meds!)) for three years, went into therapy (very anxious person) and then gradually as I dealt with psychological issues, the anxiety and all these "sensations" disappeared....
The FEAR of the sensation certainly exacerbated it, that's for sure.
The neurologists said they see this all the time and even though there is no pathology, something goes awry with the vestibular system...It's usually not permanent.
I haven't read all your posts or replies so I hope I'm not being redundant here, but it really is very possible this will disappear...
