Curing your chronic sinus infection - Sinus Problems Message Board

Anyone have a cure for this. I have tried antibiotics but they dont work. Please dont post the sinus draining procedure requiring the sniffing of peroxide. My dr and pharmecist both tell me its not a good idea since it can cause free radicals to mulitple and cause cell mutation. I have had ct scans wich didnt show any sinus blockage or thickening. I know i dont have allregies since i was exposed to a sinus infection 3 days befor i got the first symptoms.

I was wondering has anyone been cured successful without antibiotics. If so how did you do it. Does this ever go away with time or does it eventually take its course. Has anyone been dealing with a untreatable sinus infection for years not months. If so what have you done to deal with the it mentally, emotionally and physically?

I am very troubled by this infection and im desperatly trying to find a cure. I was a healthy 26 yearold over a year ago now im a sick bad breathed miserable sinus infection suffer.

it's very tough getting over sinusitis

Is yours a long term chronic infection. If so is your discharge always colored. I did some exstensive research the other day on homeopathic remedys. I found that papaya will reduce inflamation in the sinuses and contains vitamines assential for healing. I'm going to try eating papaya and see if it helps. I will post my expierence while i try eating papaya for my sinusitis.

Which antibiotics have you tried and for how long? Some folks will only see a benefit following 4-6 weeks of antibiotic therapy.

That said, I have had severe allergies all my life which have resulted in chronic sinusitis. I've been to three ENTs, none of whom could help and, until the new anti-IgE medication came out, no other allergy or antibiotic therapy has made a difference.

I do recommend sinus rinsing, although I don't recommend the hydrogen peroxide option that is so popular here. Also, hot green tea and 2-3 full doses of vitamin C daily.

If you have not been allergy tested, I highly recommend that even if you don't think you are allergic. If the ENT has ruled out everything else, it is probably allergy.

My ENT also said it is bad to sniff peroxide. I go to an allergist/immunoligst on Tuesday to see if they can find a cure for me.
