Sinus Infection?? - Sinus Problems Message Board

My boyfriend is home sick right now (and driving me nuts). We can't get into the doctor until Monday so I was wondering if anyone had any ideas that might help his pain. He is currently experiencing extreme pain in the left side of his face, pressure all around, runny nose, coughing, and his eyes wont stop watering. Any ideas??? I thought it might be a sinus infection or maybe just a severe cold...I've put a hot rag on his face trying to break up the pain that he is experiencing but after that I am at a loss. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Put ice on the area that is causing him pain, maybe make the inflammation go down some. Also, if his mucous is green than I am betting it is a sinus infection. Tell him to take 4 advil every 6 hrs for the pain. Also, tell him to get some saline is flush out his sinuses with it every couple of hours. It would be great if he could get a machine and irrigate his nose with the saline solution as this would surely help a lot of his pain and help clear out the infection. If he doesn't know what that is tell him to go to a drug store like walgreens and ask the Pharmacist, they'll know.
