Sinus Infections, how long until you see an improvement on antibiotics
I am on the Zithromax Tri pack for a severe sinus infection along with the prednisone 4 mg. dosepak, how long before you think I will see any improvement. I have been sick for 3 weeks now and I am tired of it. I think this is the worse infection I have ever had.

If you don't see improvement in like 7 days at the maximum, I'd give your doc a call. I just had to do that, and just got some Augmentin tonight. Good luck man. It sucks, don't it? :P

Definately if you don't see improvement you need to call your doctor. Do you see a regular doctor or an ENT? See an ENT and you might want to get a CTscan of your sinuses done. Sometimes a bad infection like this means there is some type of problem that cannot be corrected just by medicine. I had a bad sinus infection like that last year and nothing worked. Now my sinuses are damaged badly. I will have major surgery to correct it all. That doesn't mean that will happen to you, but if you don't get the infection cleared up it can leave damage done to your sinuses.

Thanks for the replies. I already had a CT scan and everything came back fine. I took the Zithromax Tri Pack, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday along with Prednisone 6 day dose pack and by yesterday (Friday) I could tell I was on the mend. I do not have all the colored discharge and I am not dizzy and lightheaded like I was before. I am still tired, but I think that will take some time after having an infection. They also have me using Saline Spray and Nasonex now, so hopefully that will ward off another infection

Good to see you've improved!! Getting rest will help b/c some antibiotics and I know my antibiotics as I am on them a lot unfortunately, can cause you to get very sleepy!
As for Zithromax....I've only taken that twice and the first time it didn't help at all, the 2nd time I caught the infection earlier and the dr would only give me that but then it worked so....I guess it's the luck of the draw! Glad it seems to be clearing you up!

Yeah, I believe catching it Earlier is the key...I learned my lesson from this current one. The Augmentin seems to be clearing it up, but time will tell. :P Then my doc told me not to wait a month before I come in. LOL
