I just received a copy of my recent brain MRI report. My brain appears to be fine
but they said this about my sinuses: "There is an air-fluid level within the left maxillary sinus and spheroid sinus indicative of an acute inflammatory process. There is mucosal thickening of both maxillary sinuses secondary to chronic inflammatory process. There is a 9 mm nonspecific right retropharyngeal lymph node."
I know I have chronic sinus pain and frequent headaches. I've been allergic since infancy and 6 years of shots did not help. But, what does the comment about air-fluid level mean?
I've looked around the internet and it sounds like cerebral spinal fluid must be present in my sinuses but that sounds rather extreme and dangerous. Could anyone tell me the significance of this?
Also, is the lymph node large? Could it indicate cancer? My pcp didn't say anything about it. Should it be checked in some other way?
Thanks for any insights.
