Sinus headache without stuffy nose? - Sinus Problems Message Board

For over a week now, I've had a headache that's gone through a few changes... It started out with neck pain, then progressed to jaw pain (leading me to believe it was TMJ), but now has no pain and just feels like pressure all over my face and top of my head! Every time I move my head from side to side or up and down, I get a head rush... the pressure, while not really behind my eyes, makes my eyes want to close... I can't explain it, it makes me feel sleepy or something.

I've never had a sinus infection before, so I don't know what it feels like... I know the basic symptoms... stuffy nose, cheeks/forehead sensitive to touch... I don't have any of that. However, when I breath deeply through my nose, I feel pressure at the bridge.

Anyway... I really don't know what this is and it's starting to scare me. I talked to my doctor and he prescribed me 800mg of ibuprofen. It worked for a couple days, but now it doesn't do anything. I've been trying to get ahold of him for two days now, but he's not on call...

Has anyone ever had anything like this? I'm really starting to freak out now!

I have something very similar. This has been going on for a week. I have pressure/pain around my eyes, in my nose, in my jaw and in my neck.

I have tried flonase, sudaphed, nose drops, Advil, etc. I can't seem to get rid of it. My doctor says it is a combination of sinus and perhaps muscle strain in my neck.

Let me know how you are doing and if you found anything that works. This is getting real old.

Try a warm moist washcloth on the forehead . You can put it in the microwave , just be careful not to get it too hot , somewhere between warm and hot is good. I also have something called Bed Buddy which is meant to be put in the microwave and then on painful spots on the head. May not cure it , but it usually provides some relief.
