Wisdome tooth in sinus area

Hi,

My daughter had wisdom tooth surgery less than a weak ago. During the process of removing the upper teen one of them slipped into the sinus area. The orral surgeon indicated that he would need to perform one more surgery to remove the tooth in about 3-4 weeks. I have never heard of such as thing and I am very nervous about the potential complications. Any insight tho this matter would be greatly appreciated. How can this occur? Is this type of complication common? I would just like to do my homework befor subjecting her to another surgery. I tried searching the internet for but I am not yielding any results. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Wisdome tooth in sinus area

Thank you so much for the informaton. We are scheduled for surgery on October 28th. Any idea if there would be significant swelling involved? When her lower teeth were extracted she swelled up like a baloon for almost a week. What type of recovery time should we be expecting?

Thanks again for your reply.
