Hello All!!

I have had sinus tachycardia now for 7 years and haven't really thought much about it till now. The doctor at the VA gave me a monitor to keep track of my blood pressure and it has a pulse read-out on it and it is scaring the heck outta me

Last night when I took my reading my BP was fine but my pulse was 120, I checked again 15 minutes later and it was 117, and again 15 minutes later it was 132

2 weeks ago it did the same thing so I went to the ER and they did all kinds of tests, blood,x-ray etc.. and told me it was Sinus Tachycardia and sent me home.

Sometimes I can feel my heart beating and a month ago I wore a Holter Monitor and they said that it was fine and my average was 95, but I am wondering how high do I let this go before I seek emergency help?

One thing I do know is that your blood pressure changes constantly. You can take your blood pressure 3 different times or more in the same 15 min and it will be different everytime. Blood pressure varies for many different reasons. If you are anxious then it will go up. You didnt say the what the bottom numbers were. Or are those the bottom numbers? If they are...then thats pretty high and are you on bp meds? If those are the top numbers..then I say your blood pressure's pretty good.

They were my pulse.

A10.. I have sinus tach as well as atrial tach. I was told that if my heart rate was 200 or higher for more than an hour and i was unable to get it down (by like lying down or vagual maneuvers) then to go to ER. I was also told that if at any point you feel extremely dizzy, faint, or passout no matter what your heart rate is, to go to er. My physician has told me to essentially ignore the number, because it is not the number that counts as opposed to how you feel. I assume with ST for that long you are on a beta blocker?? If so then I would see if you could go up on it, if not then get one.
