hi-
i have terrible allergy issues. i do the shot s et which helped. my big thing is the sinuses-i have chronic inflammation etc tere from some allery. here is the thing-our air ducts were just cleaned and now the heat works 100x better. but the heat is so strong its irritating and giving me grief esp post nasal drip, lightheadedness. everyone at my house is now having this since the air flow improved after the cleaning this weekend! what can i do to reduce this issue from the irritating dry heat during winter? i replaced the filter. do i need to do something to the grills inthe rooms? i have crohns so these issues are the last thing i need. hope to ear on this-art in tx

Does your furnace have a humidifier attached to it? Typically that's the best way to deal with dry air issues in the wintertime (just be sure to turn it off in the summers and make sure it gets cleaned before you turn it on each winter). They typically cost about $250 + installation and really help in the wintertime.

You might also try supplemental humidifiers at night in bedrooms (in addition to the whole house humidifier).

For the first couple of weeks after a duct cleaning, the unit will blow the leftover debris into the house. That may be part of the problem. You can put little filters over the vents if oyu want. You can get the material at the hardware store. It comes in sheets and can be cut to fit.

If you don't want to go to the expense of buying humidifiers, you can simmer a large pot of water on your stove.

hi-sounds like u experienced this 1st hand?! i may call my fournace company to see if it is multi-speed and if setting can be changed
