Chronic Neck/Back Pain, Fatigue, and Headaches Confused with Sinusitis?
Hi, I'm 16 years old and I've been visiting an ENT for what seemed to be sinus issues but he found only a deviated septum which was most likely not the culprit of my pain. Please bare with my long story.
About a year ago, I played lacrosse (contact sport) for my school and suffered a neck injury that didn't seem too severe. I did experience slight whiplash and constant cracking of the neck but just ignored it after it healed. However, I had recieved a laptop at around the same time and foolishly used it consistently after school to quench my boredom. Eventually my neck was severely strained but for some reason I kept my bad habit up until a certain point. After stopping my laptop habits, I attended a pool party of a friend's; where I (once again) foolishly attempted to lift two people at the same time onto my shoulders. My lower back gave out, and continued to spasm and get worse for a few weeks due to my participation on the swim team. I now find myself in chronic neck, shoulder and lower back pain along with fatigue, personality changes, and chronic headaches; despite my relaxing at home and avoidance of the laptop.
What can be my issue and how can I relieve some pain? I have an appointment with my doctor soon so what should I bring up to her? What kind of doctors should I be looking to be referred to? Thanks guys!
