I had sinus surgery and a tonsillectomy 10 days ago. My dr. gave me instructions on what to do afterwards (nasal rinses, no nose blowing, etc). Nothing I have though, tells me what is considered normal as far as how I am feeling this far out from it. I have a ton of thick mucus in my nose still - is that normal at this point? I can't help but think today this headache and the drainage feels so much like the start of another sinus infection.
If anyone has some words of wisdom I would really appreciate it!

It's difficult to answer your question without knowing what kind of sinus surgery you had.

Have you had your first post-surgical follow up visit? (Most well-trained ENTs schedule 2-4 post-surgical visits to remove scabs that can cause scar tissue. The first visit is usually 7-10 days after the initial surgery). If your doctor didn't do this you should call and insist that he see you.

I have had my first post op visit to have the plastic pieces removed, but now I don't see him for 2 weeks. I think I am going to call on Monday and try to be seen.
