Hello. I am a new member and have been surfing around these message boards for a few days reading and learning stories and trying to relate to other sinus problems.
I little background...
I am a 35 yr old woman with a history of asthma (allergy related) and I'm basically allergic to everything environmental, dust and most animals. I have always suffered from allergies (for as long as I can remember) but this is the first year where something has changed.
For the last 3 months I have been suffering from sinus pressure that is accompanied by swollen glands/nodes under my jaw line (ears to chin). This is constant from the moment I wake up until my head hits the pillow at bedtime. The only relief I get is when I am lying down.
When I first noticed these symptoms, I started with natural solutions like my neti-pot, steam, saline sprays, hot sauce, warm compresses. When none of these solutions worked - I went to the doctors and was prescribed antibiotics for a sinus infection. After 2 rounds of antibiotics - I was still the same.
Went to see an allergist/immunologist and he prescribed Avamys nasal spray, Symbicort, Spiriva and a daily antihistamine. After a few weeks with no change, I stopped both inhalers (don't really know why I was prescribed inhalers cause my lungs were and are feeling fine) and continued with the daily antihistamine and Avamys.
Now weeks later, no change. Still feel the same. I am currently waiting for my ENT appointment.
I wake up every morning hoping for some miracle of relief but to no avail. I cannot lie down all day - impossible. This is no way to live a life - it's really starting to effect my family life and my mood is always down.
Let me be clear though - I have the sinus pressure/pain without all the other symptoms that am use to having with normal allergy problems (sneezing, runny nose, itchy eyes, wheezing). I don't have ANY of those symptoms. I can breathe through my nose but as I do I feel the pressure in my face. And this feeling of swollen glands/nodes in my neck is literally a pain in the neck! I feel as though I'm being choked. It is not an anaphylatic (sp?) reaction. It is constant all day long...
Please tell me I'm not the only person in the world with this -

help!?! I'm at my wits end!!
