I've had sinus infections for years that have gradually gotten worse over the years. Even so, they have always gone away, but currently I have been congested for 3 weeks straight and nothing is making it better. I have tried both kinds of pill decongestants, drinking tons of water, antibiotics, a humidifier, mucinex, advil, an air purifier, flonase, claritin, saline spray, neti pot, steam and eucalyptus. The only thing that provides temporary relief is decongestant nasal spray. My doctor has not been very helpful, other than saying it should have cleared up by now. I finally begged to see a specialist. I had a CT scan done last night, I had one done several years ago and was told I had a deviated septum and that's why most of my symptoms are on the right side. I am also going for allergy testing, but I lost my job this week and my health insurance will be gone at the end of the month so I won't be able to do much follow up.
Does anyone have any idea why the congestion won't go away, anything I can do and what I should be asking the doctors to do?
