Afrin Spray

This is my first post to this message board. I am a long time CPAP user and for about 6 years now I have been having nasal congestion problems, especially at night. It started about 6 mos prior to my first CPAP use. When I am desparate for sleep, I may use Afrin spray as a last resort. I only spray once in each nostril when I use it and never more than once a day. I may use it once a year. In any event, when I use afrin, the upper back of my throat gets painfully dry from the spray even with the CPAP humidifier on. Does this happen to you folks as well. I have tried steriod sprays and Sudafed pills. Sadly, the sudafed clears me up great, but then I can't sleep because it keeps me up.

Any thoughts will help. Yes, I use saline as well.

Gary
