Dizzines & Tiredness, Blocked Nose

I've had a blocked nose for about 1 year now, I've tried various things and nothing, went to the doctor who said my nose looked sore and narrow so I'm booked into the ENT, but the NHS keep moving my appointment and getting furthur and furthur away.

Right now my nose isn't blocked but feel it's a bit stuffy, but for a few months alswell now. I've had this dizziness feeling, if I'm dead still and look around with my eyes everything is okay, but if I move my head a bit it goes odd, and it's almost like I have to open my eyes up again and they close a little.

In my left ear I'm getting some vibrations inside, like a roaring noise, when I as younger I had a perforated ear drum and always had excessive wax building up, but when they checked last it seemed clear they said.

Whats so hard is with my feeling could that be sinus related? inner ear tube infection (I don't have any discharge) or could it even be caused by neck pain at the back? That's another thing I've been looking into.

Seems like I might find something then it's something else.

It's gone on so long now I'm starting to think of something more sinister

Re: Dizzines & Tiredness, Blocked Nose

Hello

I have been suffering with my sinuses for a year now. I am currently seeing a ENT and going for a scan on my sinuses in a couple of weeks. I have been suffering with dizzy/off balance spells for the past year. I have been getting a roaring sound in my left ear and crackling noises. I also get a clicking sound when I talk.

Have you made any progress? I have headaches and pressure behind my eyes and nose. Dreading my CT scan but hoping for answers

Sarah

Re: Dizzines & Tiredness, Blocked Nose

I've got my ent appointment in 2 hours (finally) got all my symptoms written down so curious what they'll say.

Hopefully your ct scan will be fine.

Have you checked about Eustachian tube dysfunction, explains a lot about dizziness ear pressure clicking etc so maybe we both have that.

Re: Dizzines & Tiredness, Blocked Nose

That's great hope can get some tests and answers.
Yes I did look into that but whenever I mention it to my ENT be doesn't think it's that. He said because my dizzy spells last for days it rules out ear problems. I am having a teat on my inner too but waiting on the app.

Let me know how you get on.

Re: Dizzines & Tiredness, Blocked Nose

Just got back and had the camera in my nose, awful experience but had the best sneeze just after.

He suspects rhinitis and have an allergy test booked for Wednesday, my mum one years ago and her arm pretty much blew up on the house dust mites, so may have the same

Re: Dizzines & Tiredness, Blocked Nose

Haha just seen that. Well who knows what's going on in my head there might be milk in there! Obviously I mean test

I had the camera up my nose too. Wasn't a nice feeling.

Least that's something to go off. I had the allergy test and that's how I found out I have an allergy to blossom trees but there is no blossom trees in winter! He just fobbed me off using this as the reason and put me on tablets and a nasal spray which both didn't work. I had my follow up last week with a different ENT who was much better and said about having the CT scan. I had my allergy test there and then which was good and unusual for the NHS! It does only test for a few allergies like the main ones - dust, grass etc so I'm going to ask for the blood test one to see if I'm allergic to anything else.

Hope your allergy test can give you some answers!?

Re: Dizzines & Tiredness, Blocked Nose

Thought you meant test hehe.

I remember having a camera down my nose to look at my throat that was worse I'm sure, this just tickled and they didn't use the anesthic again neither, but as soon as it's out it's pretty fine isnt it.

An allergy test there and then, far too efficient, are you sure your on the NHS?

What I'm being tested for is the house dust mites, dogs, mould, pollen, grass and trees or something odd like that, most likely the norm.

Thankfully my dizziness has subsided some what.

I've always had ear problems and think it's all related but when he checked my lugholes he didn't seem fazzed by them, so maybe there okay inside.

It's the not knowing that annoys me, and I do IT work as my job, and if theres a problem I want to know what caused it, what is it and how to fix it NOW, which in turn makes me slightly depressed, anxiety and worried of tumours or something bad :O

Re: Dizzines & Tiredness, Blocked Nose

Yes the camera in the nose wasn't to bad just a weird feeling. I've had a camera down my throat into my stomach which was horrific so this was nothing compared

Yes that's the test I had. They test for 6 things. I couldn't believe it when my ENT specialist said go get tested with the nurse then come back! usually its more appointments and more time wasting. You never know you might have developed an allergy. I still find my tree allergy weird. Never suffered in the past.

Glad your dizziness is better. It's a nightmare to love with.

I know what you mean it's worrying and hard when you don't have answers. Doctors are good at fobbing you off with random diagnoses when they have no idea what's up. You just have to keep pushing until you get the answers you need.

Re: Dizzines & Tiredness, Blocked Nose

Well I just got back and incredibly confused, it turns out I was booked in for an ige rast blood test!!

I thought I'd be having a skin test and know there and then pretty much, but nope it seems they've gone back 30-40 years and doing the old blood route, which means waiting now, no doubt a week or two!

Just when I thought I'd be ending this problem sooner rather than later, ho humph!

Oh no that's grim.

Was it at the hospital of GP? So you have more waiting! Doesn't suprise me with the NHS. They are in no rush.

Re: Dizzines & Tiredness, Blocked Nose

Got my allergy tests back, nope, not allgeric to anything!

Still suffering with brain fogness, extreme tiredness (wake up after decent sleep and want to sleep again) dizziness, ears popping, ears full

I'm having a Sinus CT scan this coming Sunday, which knowing my luck will come back "normal" to which my reply will be "when was it last calibrated, because it's wrong"

Oh the joys, its getting worse by the week, feel like I might have to stop work soon
