External swelling after septoplasty

Looking for some insight while I wait for my surgeon to call me back. I had a septoplasty and concha bullosa reduction two days ago. Apparently my septum was so crooked that my ent had to cut it 8 times and remove a piece of it to get it to go straight but the op was apparently a success. The problem is that I was told there would be no external changes to the appearance to my nose and I woke up this morning with a very visibly swollen nose. Has anybody else experienced this? Also the pain is very very bad. Morphine levels of bad and I'm still bleeding a lot.

Any thoughts?

P.S. have called the surgeon and waiting for him to call me back.
