Anyone know a Sjogren's specialist at UCLA or Mayo?

I am trying to locate a specialist for my mother who has been diagnosed with Sjogren's syndrome. Her main challenge is severe shoulder pain--one shoulder was replaced and it was worse after than before the surgery. The surgeon at Mayo tells her that there is nothing that he can do and that she is going to have to live with the pain.

We live in S. CA, so I thought that I might try to pursue a specialist at UCLA in Sjogren's. Any thoughts?

Sincerely,

P. Hampton

Re: Anyone know a Sjogren's specialist at UCLA or Mayo?

I contacted Dr Steven Weiner, who is a really, really good rheumotologist and used to be my dr before we had to switch to a HMO when hubby retired. He said the specialist for sjogren's is Dr Robert Fox down toward San Diego.

Dr Weiner is also an associate professor at UCLA. If you look him up on the web, he is very well known as is Dr Fox. I have Kaiser insurance or I would be very tempted to go see him.
How was your mom diagnosed? Also there is a sjogren's organization and great info they provide too.
