| Re: Peripheral Neuropathy
I have suffered from a form of transient neuralgia for a couple of years. It feels as if I have a severe sunburn and I am sensitive to clothes or bed linens touching my skin. My GP put me on Gabapentin but it did nothing to releive my nerve pain. I researched the internet and came across information on SAM-e (an amino acid derivitive), I stopped taking the Gabapentin because I don't like taking medications and I began taking SAM-e about a year and a half ago. I have had a significant reduction in nerve pain, my peripheral neuropathy has not bothered me at all since I began taking it and I only have mild bouts of neuralgia. I have not suffered from vasculitis since taking the SAM-e either. I know it works for me but I don't know if it will work for anyone else - it is a MUST to take B vitamins with folic acid while taking SAM-e. Also, I stick with a no grain, no legume, and no potato or processed food diet to keep the inflammation at bay.
