My primary was not Sjogrens, Sjogrens came much later. But after my last re- qualification exam, I filled out a questionnaire for SSDI continuation and after that, and I included the Sjogrens on the question about new disabilities or diagnoses I was still required to have an exam for my primary disability. So I got the feeling that everything Sjogrens related was not enough to consider my disability to be qualifying. I re-qualified after my evaluation, but it was not for Sjogrens. You can find a list on the SSDI site about qualifying conditions. Be sure to check for auto-immune disorders.

I have Primary Sjogren's. Sjogren's is in the SSD blue book at 14.10 (http://www.ssa.gov/disability/professionals/bluebook/14.00-Immune-Adult.htm#14_10).
I'm on my 2nd round of applying. First application was Sept of 2007 before I had a diagnosis. I'm now waiting for my 2nd hearing. VERY VERY difficult process. The SSA has STILL never sent me to a medical doctor, only to a shrink...TWICE. Uuuugggghhh!
I have a primary disability which was up for review earlier this year. I included the Sjogren's Diagnosis but was still required to be evaluated for my primary disability. I don't know if the Sjogren's alone would have qualified me on it's own or not.
I did read the link you posted, I got the impression the SSA didn't have a clue what Sjogren's was! Have you had the biopsy yet?
