Sjogrens screen test results
I finally got my hands on the test results from the Sjogrens screen my doctor ordered. The ANA is just listed as "negative," with no numerical value. The SSA is 9 and the SSB is 36, where <100 is "negative". According to my rheumatologist, there is not even borderline for Sjogrens, but she will continue to treat my major symptom, which is dry mouth. What is confusing the issue is that I underwent a stapedectomy last year, which can have dry mouth as a rare complication (due to the cutting of the chorda tympani nerve in the middle ear, which plays a role in stimulating saliva production from the sublingual and submandlibar (sp?) glands). Any thoughts on what those numbers mean? Thanks.
