I work in a dental office and for dry mouth we recommend rinses such as Oasis and Biotene. You can find that over the counter at your local pharmacy.

Have you spoken to your doctor about taking a prescription drug like Evoxac? It seems to help many people with dry mouth.

Re: SO DRY can not swallow....

wow i know how you feel. not only does my mouth get dry but my food and sometimes even water gets stuck in my esophagus and i can't get it to come up one time i almost passed out from it. i don't know what will actually work anymore except juicing my foods and sipping from a straw.

Re: SO DRY can not swallow...

try drinking a small glass of milk before bed every night. i find that the slimier the food is....the more moist it keeps my esophagus. water keeps me hydrated, but it does nothing for me for the dryness. i go through 2, 4 litre bags of milk a week and it helps. orange juice is also good as it gives you the vitamin c and it's slimey. chew sugarless gum as often as you can and suck on sugarless candies. anything you suck on with force your glands to produce saliva. all the best.
