Question Sjogrens Syndrome and Plaquenil Treatment
Hey Everyone,
I was recently put on Plaquenil for Sjogrens (3 weeks ago, 400mg daily) and have had terrible stiffness for the last week or so. I feel like I've been to the gym, which, unfortunately, I haven't
Has anyone else had this as a side effect of Plaquenil?
I'm also curious as to whether people with Sjogrens who are being treated with Plaquenil have noticed improvement.

Since I started on Plaquenil I have noticed my bouts of inflammation don't last as long and aren't as severe. Before, they would last for weeks to months, now i know when I have pain or joint swelling that it will only last for a few days. I know everyone is different, I am lucky it's helping me so far. Hope u start feeling better soon.

I began taking plaquinil about a year ago. My Rheumy told me I wouldn't see any real results for about 6 months (it needs to build in your system) that said, I have to say that I feel it has helped quite a bit. I haven't any new symptoms since taking it where before I was popping up with new symptoms every month or so. Also I notice that my "bouts" are less severe and I believe that it has helped the fatigue a bit as well. I find the dryness just as bad, but my Dr told me it wouldn't do anything for that anyway. I can't say that I am symptom free but overall I would say my symptoms are more controlled.
