Burning off a Wart

I saw they have this new product, Wartner, but it costs $30.

I wanted to take my soldering iron and just burn off a wart on my knuckle, or just use a red hot element of the stove. Will this be effective?

I have been trying sandpaper and compound W and some other brand of the same type of stuff, but it just does not do it and the wart comes back.

Thumbs up Re: Burning off a Wart

Try the duct tape cure. It was proven 80% effective in a hospital study.

The duct tape therapy was done like this: The first piece of duct tape, cut as close to the size of the wart as possible, is applied to the wart and leave the tape in place for 6 days. If the tape falls off reapply a new piece of tape. At the end of the 6 days remove the tape, soak the area in water, and then gently debride the wart with an emery board or pumice stone. The tape is left off overnight and is reapplied (new tape) the following morning. Leave it on for another six days. Repeat this six day on, one night off cycle for two months or until the wart is gone.

Re: Burning off a Wart

Actually, I've heard alot about the duct tape treatment. Patients swear by it. If you use an acid patch, do you remove it in the shower and then debride (roughen up the skin) with a pumice stone while the skin is wet? Yes, you'll be sore. I wouldn't do it more than a month. And remember, any opening in the skin can invite infection.
