Red bumps on neck, chest, and shoulders.

Im a 26 year old male. For over 2 years now I've had red bumps sometimes 1/2" wide on my mostly my neck but also my chest and shoulders. Occasionally they come to a white head but they don't look or feel like any acne I've ever had before. The worst areas are straight back from my jaw line on both sides of my neck. There are areas where the same spots have been there for over a year without healing. I'm was seeing a Derm who insists it is acne but I've had bad acne before and this is not like anything I've seen. People at work sometimes come up to me and ask what the hell happened to your neck. Even they can see that it is not acne. The skin all around my neck it also very easily irritated now and has a new different texture and look when I pull on it. My Derm had me on 1G of Amox and it did nothing so I quit after 9 months when he wanted to jack it to 1.5G. I did make an appointment with a new Derm but in the meantime does anyone have a clue?

Re: Red bumps on neck, chest, and shoulders.

Incase anyone here has a similar problem to mine my new derm diagnosed me with folliculitis. I had actually suggested that to my first derm and he got offended and refused to believe my problem was 'caused by an external bacteria'. And even went so far as to tell me acne and folliculitis are the same thing. My new derm gave me Xerac AC. Its an Aluminum Chloride/Alcohol solution that is very similar to napalm :P but it cleared up my problem by about 1/3 in 10 seconds, no exaggeration. And I'm also taking a gram a day of Cefadroxil. Had my first derm been competent enough to identify a simple staph infection I would have been completely cleared up 10 months ago. It been about a week on the new meds and I'm about 80% cleared up. I hope this info helps somebody else.
