Tiny, painful finger bumps

I get these little, pin head size, red bumps on my fingers, that are painful to touch. I only get a couple at a time, every once in awhile (unlike some info I read about getting TONS, that are itchy. I do not have that.) However, mine are painful! And when one finally disappears another one pops up right next door! When I destroy it, by picking off the top layer of skin, there is a small hole. What is this?? How can I stop them from reoccuring?

Tell me someone else has these!
