Recurring ingrown hairs

For several months i have experienced ingrown hairs in just about the same spot every time--about 2 inches below my belly button (in my "happy trail" area). It'll start off looking like the beginning of a pimple. It's very much like a pimple, in fact. Its red and starts to fill with a little white pus after a couple days. I try to leave it alone, but usually end up popping it then scratching the scab off. What is left behind is a dark, curly hair, about the same thickness and length of an eyelash. Out of disgust, i end up plucking the hair. After a few weeks, the cycle repeats. It's frustrating having the ugly red mark constantly there. I use one of those netted body poufs when i shower, but it doesn't seem to be enough to help. Maybe a stronger scrub? What would help get rid of it?

Re: Recurring ingrown hairs

After you pluck it try putting an antiseptic ointment on it for several days. That may help. I shave in the bikini area and I have found that solarcaine works to keep the bumps away. You might try that. I like it because it is a spray and it easier to use. Good Luck
