I know that this may seem like a very inconsequential thread, but I'm a bit of a hypochondriac and just need to be reassured that what I have experienced today isn't life-threatening or permanent....
When I started driving to work today, I developed a small, red rash on both of my forearms. I figured it was just a little bit of heat rash - I'd used a hairdryer just before - and waited for it to go away. But instead of fading, it got worse - without me touching or scratching it, it eventually spread to my ankles (where the worst of it was) and into larger raised spots on my neck and jawline (which frightened me since external rashes on necks can sometimes lead to swollen glands and throats, impeding breathing).
Throughout the night, the rash got continually worse on my neck and jawline, but plateued on my arms and ankles. I have applied hydrocortisone cream and taken Benadryl since getting back home (about two hours ago) but have seen no change for the better or worse - except that it has now spread to my armpits. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.
