Good Afternoon, I have this skin condition which I've been told nothing can be done about. I have many questions and very few answers from Drs. Hoping someone will read this that also has this skin condition to compare notes and enlightenment about how to best live with this.
For those that don't know, it's like boils in the armpit or groin. Drs talk about removing lymph nodes to treat. Has anyone had that done? So many questions....

I had the same problem for years and one doctor advised the same treatment . . . removing the lymph nodes. Sounded kinda drastic to me. I ended up finding a dermatologist who treated the condition with enteric coated erythromycin. I took it for years, then fearing that I would develop a resistance to the drug, quit taking it. Guess what? Never had another problem.

I also have this condition. I recently had two separate cists. For one of them, the doctor cut it open and squeezed to get the pus out. She also said that she got the "walls" out, which would help to reduce and eliminate the cist. The cist was left open and was packed with paper to drain which took about 2 weeks and needed to be repacked every 3 days. Between that and antibiotics it has cleared up well.
The other outbreak I have is under the arm. Antibiotics didn't help. We also tried to drain it by squeezing, no luck. The next step the doctor is taking is minor surgery to remove it. If anyone has had this surgery, let me know how that went. The doctor said that even after surgery there is a chance it will still come back.
