Lip piercing may be infected... - Skin Problems Message Board

I just got it done about 3 weeks ago. It's been completely fine, I washed it everyday and whatnot, no swelling at all. Yesterday I lifted weights, and while I was lifting I tightened my lips, mainly because the weight was heavy. I don't think my lip ring liked that. Today I woke up, and found a large, weird lump on the inside of my lip. I haven't the slightest idea what it is, but it's freaking me out.. especially the fact that it developed overnight. Any suggestions would be great, whether if it's actually infected or if I'm just completely paranoid. Thanks!

it's not infected. grind up some aspirin pills, add a little water, and put the paste onto the bump. it should go away in a few days. also, make sure to soak your piercing in warm sea salt water every day for 10 minutes until it has healed.

if you have any questions, you can always go to the place where you got pierced and ask.
