Is it my liver? - Skin Problems Message Board

i have been overdosing on paracetamol for many years and have been getting very itchy lately and i've learnt that could be something to do with the liver, does anyone know about this have i got it wrong
overdoses on this meds can obviously cause liver failure/damage and the amount of tablets i take especially in the past 2 weeks i'm getting worried about the consquences
may be its a coincidence and it could be an allergy to something, plus i had an allergic reaction to the antidote i was being treated with but they gave me meds at the hospital for that which solved it and anyway that was nearly 2 weeks ago
i just know i'm itching and i'm worried it is my liver

Many years ago I also got very itchy as a result of years of alcohol abuse. As my liver started breaking down, bile would come to the surface of my skin (this is how it was explained to me anyways) and would drive me crazy. It also showed up as very dark foul smelling urine.
They did perscribe atarax which did help very much, along with rehab. The itching did subside but it did take quite a while. Good luck.
