| severe eczema, what to do?
Hi! I am like a long time eczema sufferer. In fact when I was born I had eczema ALLLLL over my body. As a child I had eczema in the joints and blisters on the palms of my hands. It was like a smooth red rash on the joints. Once in a while a doc would give me a cortizone shot in the butt. I was always on topical cortizones. So Luckily it all went away when I hit puberty. Ok typical. The problem is that I had mono when I was 20, and about four months later, it returned, but ten times worse the ever before. I have had this severe form now for four years, and it is horrible. Everywhere, my face, arms, legs, even my eye lids and inside the folds of my eyes. Even on my groid area. I use Protopic on my face and a really strong cortizone on my skin. Now I have it again on the palms of my hands. And it itches so much. I literally stay awake alll night just itching. It gets worse in the shower. The shower is the most painful thing for me. No doc is giving me good answers. One once said to try sun tanning, I did and it got soooooooooooooooooooo much worse. Something else is strange, the eczema went away for 6 months 2 years ago. And then for another year last year. But it has once again returned. Does anyone with eczema have this. Should I have it looked into further? Does mono begin eczema in people prone to it? Thanks!
