First of all, are you sure they're real keloids, or hypertrophic scars?? The difference is very subtle - keloids don't respond well to treatment, and hypertrophic scars do.
I'm a fair-skinned white person who gets hypertrophic scars (for years I thought they were keloids, and I'm not pure white, anyway). However, I've gotten rid of them with cortisone shots (from a dermatologist), and those scar-reducing patches (Band-Aid makes very good ones) with silicone. The creams for minimizing scars have done very little for me. If you try the scar patches or the cortisone, you may see a dramatic improvement (the patches take several weeks to work). If you do, then you don't have true keloids.
