Tanning results in Itchy Skin - Skin Problems Message Board

I went tanning about 4 days ago, and the very next day areas on my body have been itchy like crazy. I've tried different types of lotions... assuming my skin itches because it got dry.

What does anyone suggest to use - over the counter - that will get rid of this awful itchy skin.

I dont have anything to recommend to use that will take it away, but what worked for me was regular lotion. It seemed to soothe and take the itch away for a little while

I dont know if this your first time tanning or not, but itching is normal. It will only be for a couple of times and then it should go away completely. I know the first time I tanned, I itched soo bad I didnt want to go back, but I did and after a couple visits it went away...

Hi! I feel your pain! My skin itches horribly after going to the tanning bed. I have found that moisturizing ALL THE TIME helps a little. Also, I have to keep my chest covered up whenever I lay. For some reason that area is the worst! After laying a few times it's not as bad. And i dont understand why the tanning bed makes my skin so itchy, laying in the sun never affects my skin like that...
