| Dry, cracking fingers and hands
My DH works in construction and lately, has been working with concrete and mortar which has caused his hands to become extremely dry and now they are cracking at his fingertips and even bleeding sometimes. I was going to give him an at-home manicure but after I thought about it awhile, I was scared that anything I might have to use at home may irritate those fingertips and possibly cause infection.
I planned on soaking his hands in warm soapy water, then using a brush to try and get rid of some of that skin, following that with some exfoliation and then thick lotion - wrapping his hands in hot washcloths for 10-15 minutes and rinsing. Finishing with some Avon moisture therapy lotion.
Does this sound right - maybe putting on some neosporin somewhere in that process? Since he works with his hands, the last thing I want to do is make it more uncomfortable but I am worried that he may get an infection.
