What's wrong with my face - Skin Problems Message Board

About a month ago,I broke out in this weird butterfly rash on my face. They were little red itchy bumps and they started to spread to my kneck and ears. I was soo freaked out. I went to a dermatologist and he told me to put this presciption cream on it and don't worry. It was probalby something I had eaten. It went away in a couple of days time and has only tried to reappear a couple of times since. But I'll put the cream on it as soon as I feel any tingling.

A few days ago, my bottom lip started to feel reealy funny like a cross between a burning sensation and a tingle and a itch. I didn't even think about it, just started to bite and rub it.Then my lip started to swell, but it went down a few minutes after. Now the same thing happened again last night. the swelling has gone dowon some but it's still itchy, tingly, and burning.I don't know what it is.

I cancelled my insurance with my job and I'm right now in the process of trying to get individual coverage with another provider. I don't have the money right now to go and spend and I'm hoping this is something I can just ride out. Luckily I have full lips and it's not way noticiable to anyone but myself.

I'm thinking the face rash and the lip thing are related, but of course I'm not sure. Does anyone have any experience with something like this?

The only part of your post that sent up a red flag with me was the "butterfly rash" on your face. That is one of the symptoms of Lupus. I would go to www.webmd.com and type in "lupus" in the search box. Select the first item on the list of websites that comes up; there should be a list of items, one of which is "Symptoms". It talks about the butterfly rash. Of course, I am not saying that the butterfly rash is always indicitive of Lupus, but it's something to check into. Hopefully, it is something else.
