Folliculitis! Any Success Stories???? - Skin Problems Message Board

Hi all,

I've had folliculitis in my scalp for 3 years now,...I've been on a number of antibiotics but the darn thing keeps coming back. I'd like to kiss this thing goodbye but I have no idea how to!

I don't know what else I can do. Are there any success stories/treatments out there for this condition. I definately get it when I eat lots of suggarry foods, and if I delay washing my hair. But even then, it feels like it lives in my skin, even when the sores seem to have dissappeared, I can still feel them underneath...weird.

I'd love to hear some feedback, tips, or advice.

I had folliculitis once. I went to the Dr. and they gave me some sort of liqud to rub on it and it worked. Off hand I cannot think of the name of I, but it worked and it has never come back for me.

Hi SL,

I had folliculitis about 15 years ago on my arms. It was absolutely horrible. One of my arms swelled up really bad and I couldn't even fasten my cuff at the time.

The doctors tried all types of antibiotics both oral and topical. I was also given Hibiclens to wash twice a day and to also wash my clothes and bed sheets in it.

Nothing helped. It was so bad and severe they were about to admit me into the hospital to administer antibiotics there.

And then came a new antibiotic. Duricef. IT WORKED! And 15 years later I have never had it again.
