cellulitis long term effects

Is it possible for a severe bout of cellulitis to lead to permanent skin inflammation.I had bad bout of cellulitis over 9 months ago and was on antibiotics for 4 weeks however i have noticed that i seem to have been left with a permanent mild redness of affected elbow joint which has never really gone away although after lots of blood tests g.p doesn't believe anything sinister going on,also have flare ups of shooting nerve pain in arm,can anyone enlighten me on this ,thanks paolo.
