Question raised bumps under eyes

I was wondering if anyone might know what is causing the raised bumps under my eyes. They are the same colour as my skin and look like blocked pores or something - could that be what they are? I also have dark circles in the same place, could this all be linked to tiredness? I thought it might be a reaction to my skincare products so I've stopped using the toner I usually use. I now just use simple face wipes. Nothing has changed yet. I'd be so grateful for anyone's thoughts on what the bumps might be.

Re: raised bumps under eyes

I've got a similar problem The bumps under my eyes aren't especially noticeable to anyone but me. They just look like pores. But I've got dark circles under my eyes too. It's not caused by tiredness, but that does make it worse. It's like it's just a layer of skin and no plumpness like in the rest of my face. I hate it. {removed}

Re: raised bumps under eyes

The white bumps are called "milia", which you may have had since childhood, or more likely you may have used some eye creams that had... MINERAL OIL OR PETROLATUM. SO many eye creams have them in it, and mineral oil fills the pores and hardens into a cyst-like hardened white-head. Petrolatum is of course... VASELINE, which is worse for your skin than the mineral oil. Both cause these little white bumps. How do you get rid of them? This is one good thing a dermatologist is good for.... they need to be extracted, or if you're very very very careful, you could sterilize a sewing needle, poke holes in them, and gently, GENTLY squeeze out the tiny little white "pea" that's trapped in there, then use an astringent gauze pad to rinse them. Of course, I do NOT advocate using a NEEDLE near your eye, have the doctor do it. I have done it to myself, with success, but having a needle near my eye was unnerving. If I'd slipped or jumped, it would have been tragic. Plus I'd have nobody to SUE!

I hope I helped!

I was wondering though, if I chose not to do the needle thing (doctor or no doctor, it sounds pretty scary!), will these milia go away naturally if I continue to use only very simple skincare? If they are a kind of whitehead, will they maybe eventually just clear?

Re: raised bumps under eyes

I don't believe so from what I've read & seen. What they are are seriously clogged pores that will only stay until unclogged or the stuff inside extracted. Then I believe you should use straight witch hazel to rinse for a while, and maybe use the Out of Trouble mask which has sulfur & a little bit of salicylic acid in it once in a while to help the pores stay clear.

Be careful with that needle!!!
