Hello,
I am just trying to interact with other who have PLEVA for support and sharing information.
About 1 1/2 years ago I went to the NJ Shore on vacation. Had a great time but there were a ton of fly's and bugs. A few weeks later I had this enormous "bug" bite on me that itched like the dickens. So I tried treating it on my own and it took weeks upon weeks to go away. I went to several doctors who said, "yes" it was in fact a bug bite. So we treated it for months and months months. It finally healed after about six months and left a small scar.
About February of 2005, I noticed that along with the large "bite" I had started to get these small itchy red bumps on my body. They appeared mostly on my arms and legs. I got really nervous and went back to the doctor who said, "you have fair skin and are prone to such rashes". So I asked to see a Dermo who said cmake an appointment for when you have not used a steroid creme (which is what I was using to get rid of the bumps). So my life took an unexpected turn and changed and I never got the chance. However, the bumps went away and left a couple red scars.
Well, the rash came back about a month ago. I went to the dermo and we did a biopsy. It came back as PLEVA. Man am I bummed. They don't itch very often, they don't scab over like some other peoples, but if I mess with them turn to scars. I don't want these bumps on me or the scars. It's just no fun, makes me feel very unattracitve.
Anyway, I hope other people come forward to share their experiences with PLEVA. I look forward to hearing from you and swapping stories.
