bumpy butt - Skin Problems Message Board

Sorry, this is kind of weird.
I've always had like, bumps on my rear, feels like goose-bumps. Sometimes they are reddish...not pimples...but just small bumps. I've had them since I was a kid... back then I used to think it was cause I got spanked too much. I also have the same kind of bumps on the side of my upper arms. Anyone know what this is? Is this just dry skin. I moisture my arms everyday, but it doesnt help (I dont moisturize my butt) should I?

Hi,

Sounds much like a condition called keratosis pilaris. Look up some photos on the net and see.

There isn't a cure for this unfortunately. Though hopefull in time it will go away. In the meantime you can moisturise regularly and use an exfoliator if you can.

I had that as well. Be careful with exfoliating though, don't be too rough and use a non abrasive exfoliator (maybe an exfoliating body wash, i'm using St Ives Apricot Exfoliating Body Wash). Anti acne body washes help but be careful which ones you use. I tried the Clean & Clear Clear skin Body Wash and it really irritated my skin. I like Clearisil's body wash though, has a nice cooling refreshing effect on the skin and helped clear up my bacne (back acne).
