Thumbs down Severely dry/cracked/bleeding hands - any suggestions?

I'm looking for advice for my sister. She works in a job where she has to wash her hands frequently, using antibacterial soap. This would dry out anyone's hands, but I think it may be worse for her because she had her thyroid removed awhile back. Anyway... her hands are always very dry, but in the winter they get so bad it hurts to look at them. They are cracked and bleeding, and she carries superglue around with her to close the cracks. She has tried every lotion & cream you can think of, and she has tried using them at night with gloves. She has no insurance and can't afford to see a specialist about this. I'm going to ask her if maybe she can get away with using one of those antibacterial gels that you wipe on your hands - you know, the stuff that's meant to be used when you can't wash your hands for whatever reason. But does anyone have any other suggestions for her?

I used to have the same problem........now the only soap I use is bath and body works(the creamy moisturizing ones). It is antibacterial also and my hands are alot better now. I used to have bandaids on my fingers because they would bleed so bad. I hope this helps!
