Exclamation Stretch Marks on Teenager?

Has anyone on here ever seen large stretch marks running horizontal across a persons back?
I'm asking because we have noticed them on our 17yr. old grandsons back.
They are huge! It looks as if someone beat him with a whip or something and these are the scars from it!
Now, some people have told us because he grew like 6 or 7 ins. in about a 2 month period of time last year that these are the stretch marks.
But, we've never seen such a thing!
His Dr. said they were stretch marks and then one Dr. said they weren't!
Just curious if anyone else has ever seen or heard of such a thing.
These marks are still on his back over a year later.
He is about 5ft.11 ins. and weighs about 160. He is more on the thin side.
Don't mean to sound stupid here just concerned about him.
We did ask him if someone beat him and he said "NO."
He is very close to his Grandmother and if anyone was harming him, we feel he might speak to her about it. Might, for we know how teenagers can be.
Thanks for any help in this matter.

Re: Stretch Marks on Teenager?

Honestly I think the doctor is right and they are stretch marks. Trust me I am covered in them, so I have been doing immense research on them for the last two years or so. If you type in your search engine you will find medical sites with pictures in there. Its very common for someone who grows fast in a couple of months to get stretch marks on their back and upper arms or legs.

Don't worry, of course they seem bad cause they are fresh but in a couple of years the color will tone down a bit. Have him use coco butter or Vit E oil on them to help the healing process, or you can get expensive creams to help as well, but none have been proven to take away stretch marks.
