Can dermatoses be an std?

Hi there,

My girlfriend has what looks like dermatoses between her legs. Before we met, I received oral sex form another woman, and since then, I'm been sore. (nothing visible, just dull pain). Is there some kind of bacteria that I could have picked up and passed on to her?

I hate to say it,but it sounds like it could be herpes.Herpes is very common.
Go read the herpes board.

It's not herpes, we've been tested. Any other thoughts?

Im curious if you come up with anything myself. I have a similar issue. I stupidly received oral sex from a woman of unknown status... I ended up having mild symptoms, tested positive for gonnahrea and was treated.

The problem is... I also got a red irritated patch of skin on the under side of my penis.... and irritated skin around the opening of the urethra.

Ive been tested for herpes, etc. and im clean... a dermatologist said it was irritated dermatitis and treated me with a cortisone... but its 11 months later and the irritation is still there.... I treat it daily with moisturizer and its VERY VERY SLOWLY getting better.

Your being sore after reminds me of my issue... which may have been an alergic reaction to her saliva. Although if that was the case, your problem and your sig-others issue would probably be unrelated.

Re: Can dermatoses be an std?

I just got back from the doctor's. He said that the ultrasound was negative, just like the cystoscopy was, which is good. When I saw him last his did a urine sample that tests for everything under the sun (std's, any other micro-organisms that could be transmitted sexually, etc.) and everything came up negative there too, so for all intents and purposes, I'm clean.

I told him that I've been feeling a lot better anyway, but it's still "there"... no big deal. But, he prescribed me a real strong course of anti inflammatories (indomethacin), because he still has a hunch it could be a light case of chronic prostatitis, since everything else is clean. He did say that it could still be some kind of infection, but it's nothing serious what ever it is. More of a nuisance than anything else, other than the swelling that I sometimes get on the lower part of my penis after sex. He said not to worry about that unless it remains constant (never goes down), and that it's probably linked somehow, since it could be caused by the inflammation.

I mentioned that my girlfriends doctor said that she probably has dermatitis, so I asked him if I could have got something from her. He said probably not, especially if it comes back as a skin irritation. If her dermatitis is fungal though, then it's possible that's where my discomfort came from, but it's hard to tell.

It was just nice to get some answers finally.
