Re: Legs are itchy
I HAVE THE SAME DAMN PROBLEM!!! I've been having it for about a year too I think. It used to be that it was just random INCREDIBLE itchiness in my legs, like always my calves, and it often used to be after walking for a while, but not always. It'd just be infuriatingly itchy and I'd have to stop what I was doing to scratch my legs all the time.
Anyway, then I found after a while my legs seemed to be itchy a lot of the time. I could work out no reason for this onset of itchiness. There was no rash, nothing. My legs weren't too dry or moist or anything like that. I've never been allergic to anything my whole life. And Id scratch and scratch to the point where my legs would have all these little pink and white raised dots and then they'd bleed a bit just from the scratching.
I also found at its worse was when I was lying around or lying down, and it'd go away mostly during the day walking around or at work, etc.
I ALSO found that I think heat makes it much worse, as it's not really been anywhere near as bad lately, now that's it a lot cooler here (Gold Coast in Australia). During the hottest months around Christmas, it was the WORST EVER.
ALSO (yet another theory/thought) I put on some fake tanning moisturiser cream (Johnson & Johnson Holiday Skin it's called) just before Christmas, and it made my whole BODY as bad as my legs!! My stomach and arms and hands had these little flat pink dots and if I scratched them, even lightly, it felt like itchy burning.
Anyway...I honestly do not know what causes this. I thought it might be from shaving my legs so I stopped using soap and switched to mousse/gel/cream, which seeemd to help at first but then didn't...it also seems worse a few days after shaving, so I wonder whether it could be something to do with the hair follicles. And indeed, it also is itchy to a lesser extent in other areas where I shave. (although still, once I purposefully didn't shave for 2 whole weeks to see if it helped, and it made no difference at all).
Maybe try a search for reactive dematitis, or follicular something or other...I personally think mine is something to do with folliculitis, irritated/infected hair follicles, but I just don't know!
So...hopefully this has helped...not sure how. LOL
