Arrow Ingrown hair - groin area

I have had an ingrown hair on the side of my thigh for more than 6 months already.
I have been going to the dermatologist for 4 months now, to have a cortison injection every 2 weeks ... but it doesnt seem to me that it is helping ... please tell me what else I could do, it seems to me that my dermatologist just enjoys getting the $20 every time I go to him ... but I am concerned about my problem and I want that ugly swollen black and blue ingrown hair to go away!!!!
Please tell me what to do, if you have any idea ... I am getting tired of these injections + every time I get my period it get bigger and then it shrinks again a little ... every month is the same story!!! AND IT HURTS!!!!

Every serious suggestion is appreciated.

Thanks.
